Monmouth Park Racetrack (175 Oceanport Ave, Oceanport, NJ 07757) is New Jersey's premier thoroughbred racing facility and one of the oldest racetracks in the country, with a season running from late May through early October. Live racing days draw large social groups — birthday parties, corporate outings, and bachelor/bachelorette groups who combine the races with lawn seating, craft beer gardens, and simulcast wagering from tracks around the country. General parking on race days is free, but the approach road off the Garden State Parkway at Exit 105 backs up significantly on major race days like the Haskell Stakes in July.
From Union, the drive south via the Parkway runs roughly 45–55 minutes. A charter bus means the group travels together, the pregame starts on board, and nobody is managing a 45-mile drive home after a long afternoon in the summer sun.
